Bonnier Zaffre has acquired the first memoir from global bestseller Wilbur Smith, entitled On Leopard Rock.
Mark Smith, c.e.o. of Bonnier Zaffre, acquired world rights from Kevin Conroy Scott at Tibor Jones, to publish ahead of Father’s Day in May 2018.
Kate Parkin, executive director at Bonnier Zaffre, called it a “magnificent” memoir that is “every bit as epic” as the author’s novels, adding: “From rampaging lions and bears in Alaska to diving with sharks and adventures with marlin, this is not just the story of a writer of adventure - this is the story of a life of adventure.”
Wilbur Smith has published over 30 books in a writing career spanning 55 years.
He has sold over 130 million novels worldwide and been translated into 26 languages.
Bonnier Zaffre poached the writer from HarperCollins in June for an eight-figure sterling deal.
