SpellBound Books signs two-book deal with Wright

SpellBound Books has signed a two-book deal with M P Wright.

Publishing director Sumaira Wilson acquired world English rights from Philip Patterson at Marjacq Scripts. Coal Black Soul will be published in July 2024.

Coal Black Soul and its sequel Only Devils Left are set after Greece’s "tumultuous post-war years and the repressive regime of the military rule of the Colonels’ junta". Both novels feature the laconic "Spartan detective" Major Mikhail Remis.

Wilson said: “Coal Black Soul is the first book in an exciting new crime fiction trilogy, and is a fantastic historical crime novel, full of Cold War atmosphere and vivid characterisation and place, with a cracking lead in the troubled Mikhail Remis.”
