To celebrate 10 years of publishing Very British Problems, Sphere is publishing a new Christmas quiz book.
Emily Barrett, publisher, acquired world rights from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment to The Very British Problems Christmas Quiz Book, written by the creator of Very British Problems, Rob Temple. The book will be published in hardback and e-book in October 2023.
The publisher description reads: “Brits can’t get enough of a quiz – and never has this been more true than at Christmas time. For anyone looking to liven up the big day itself, stumped for office party small talk or trying to make it through the festive period with the in-laws, this book will be perfect for them.
“Filled with questions, conundrums, word searches, crosswords and much more on topics ranging from nostalgic Christmas adverts to everyone’s favourite holiday treats, this book is best enjoyed with a cup of tea and a mince pie."
Barrett said: “This will be the sixth book Sphere and Rob have published together, which is testament to the ongoing love for, and relevance of, Rob’s ingenious brand. Moreover, despite a tricky 2022 gifting market, we managed to make last year’s The Very British Problems Quiz Book, the second bestselling title in the series so far when comparing with the previous books’ equivalent Total Consumer Market share–beaten only by the original book. I’m hugely excited to be publishing Rob’s next instalment in the series and seeing it fly this Christmas time; readers need Very British Problems’ unique, sentimental humour under their Christmas trees more than ever.”
Temple said: “I can’t wait for Very British Problems (VBP) fans to read my new festive-themed quiz book. It’s been a huge amount of fun to write and it’ll make a great Christmas gift. It’s the sixth book in the VBP range and after a decade of writing about British eccentricities I’m just really touched that the brand is being enjoyed more than ever.”
