Bookouture's Detective Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons is to be published in paperback in partnership with Sphere following Bookouture's acquisition by Hachette UK earlier this year.
Play Dead, the fourth Kim Stone novel, will be published in partnership with Sphere in the UK and released in paperback on 28th December, with the next in the series, Blood Lines, following in May 2018.
According to Bookouture, the series has sold more than 2.5 million copies since the publication of Silent Scream in 2015. The novels have so far been translated into 26 languages worldwide.
Bookouture associate publisher, Keshini Naidoo, said of the deal: "Angela Marsons’ Kim Stone series has amassed an incredible number of loyal readers digitally and in audio, with fans clamouring for the next book as soon as they finish reading. With this exciting new partnership under the Hachette brand we have the chance to build upon this bestselling performance and bring Angela’s books to an even wider audience, establishing her as a key brand author in all markets."
Catherine Burke, Sphere publisher and Little, Brown Book Group executive director added: "I am thrilled to publish global bestselling superstar Angela Marsons as a Sphere paperback. It is an absolute dream to partner with Keshini and our Hachette colleagues Bookouture to ensure Angela’s novels are available in every format readers want to enjoy them in - all of us at Sphere and Little, Brown Rights are very proud to be joining Angela’s team."
Marsons said: "Reaching 2.5 million sales is like a dream come true. I could never have imagined finding so many readers and am so thankful to Bookouture, and especially my fantastic editor, Keshini Naidoo, for helping me bring Kim Stone to life. I’m beyond excited to be publishing the Kim Stone books with the fantastic and talented team at Sphere who I know will bring Kim and her team to a brand new audience."
