Sphere has acquired two more novels from author Clare Mackintosh.
Lucy Malagoni, fiction publisher at the Little, Brown imprint, acquired world rights to two novels in a major new deal from Sheila Crowley at Curtis Brown. The first of these two novels will be published in 2020.
Malagoni said: “Working with someone as talented, creative and hard-working as Clare has been an absolute dream from the very beginning and seeing her star continue to rise with every book published is such a thrill for me and the rest of the team here.”
Mackintosh said: “I am delighted to be working with Lucy Malagoni on another two novels – there’s no better editor out there.”
Crowley said: “Clare is one of the hardest working authors I know. She connects with her many readers in the UK and around the world through her innovative newsletters and other social media. Her writing develops with every new story and she seamlessly surprises us with her memorable characters and special twists.”
The news follows the announcement in October that Sphere would publish Mackintosh’s fourth book, After the End, “about what happens after the unthinkable”, in June 2019. Sphere also published the author’s non-fiction debut about family living in the countryside, A Cotswold Family Life, last month.
