Square Peg has acquired In for Dinner, a "communal cooking modern classic" by chef Rosie Kellett, in a 48-hour pre-empt.
Marianne Tatepo, publishing director of Square Peg, pre-empted world rights from Rachel Mills at RML Literary, and will publish the book in May 2024 in hardback and e-book, featuring over 100 recipe photographs. North American rights were sold by Anjali Nathani to Clarkson Potter (PRH USA), where the book will publish in August 2025.
The synopsis states: "For the past five years chef, food writer, supper-club host and home cook Rosie Kellett has been living communally with six others, making delicious seasonal food on a budget of £25 per person, per week. In her debut cookbook, In for Dinner Kellett shares 101 original recipes from her time working in professional kitchens, hosting seasonal supper clubs and cooking for her housemates."
Kellett said: "In for Dinner is a book I have been waiting my entire life to write; it’s full of my favourite week-night recipes, childhood family favourites and staff food concoctions from my years working in professional kitchens. I knew from the beginning that Square Peg, and Vintage, were the perfect home for this book – no one else could have helped me bring it to life as beautifully as they have."
Tatepo added: "More than ever, we need community – for enjoyment, for support, for sustenance. No one understands this better than Rosie who, with this life-affirming recipe book, brings to life how cooking and eating together can be, at once, more joyful, sustainable and economical."
