SRL Publishing signs new novel from Lyons

SRL Publishing has signed Out in Greenwood, a novel from James A Lyons.

Creative director Stuart Debar signed world English rights directly form the author via direct submissions.

The publisher wrote: "Out in Greenwood follows a teenager who thought coming out as gay would immediately lead to a new multi-coloured life, yet nothing has changed. He might be open about his sexuality to four people but he still faces the everyday teenage tribulations of an embarrassing family, insecurity, homophobia and low-paid jobs. The towns annual marquee event is six days away, and he needs to navigate so he isn’t the centre of attention for once. When things seem to be on track, a mysterious graffiti artist starts to target him."

Lyons said: "The values of SRL align with my own, especially in their vision of publishing books that tackle difficult conversations, give underrepresented people a voice and books that help bring people together."
