S&S Children’s buys two more by Michelle Harrison

Simon & Schuster (S&S) Children’s UK has bought two middle-grade titles from Michelle Harrison: a sequel to A Pinch of Magic and one as yet untitled novel.

A Pinch of Magic, the current Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month, follows the adventures of three sisters haunted by a family curse that keeps them trapped on the island they were born on. Using three magical objects, they attempt to break the curse.

“In A Pinch of Magic Michelle has conjured up a spell-binding world, brimming with magic and adventure and populated by a truly memorable cast of characters,” said Lucy Rogers, senior commissioning editor. “Michelle is an incredible talent and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to travel back to Crowstone and see what the Widdershins sisters get up to next.”

Rogers bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Julia Churchill at AM Heath.
