S&S Children's lands five more from Beach

Simon & Schuster Children’s Books has landed five new books from author and illustrator Beach. World rights in all titles across both picture books and fiction were acquired by Helen Mackenzie Smith, picture books publisher, and Lucy Pearse, fiction publisher, from Charlotte Atyeo at Greyhound Literary 

The deal includes the launch of three new picture books, with the first publishing in June 2025 and a highly illustrated new fiction series for readers aged seven plus also launching in 2025. 

Mackenzie Smith said: “Working with Beach is an absolute blast! His smash hit bestseller The Dragon with the Blazing Bottom instantly established him as a picture book talent to watch and we are hugely proud that Beach has agreed to create not only more picture books with us, but irresistible fiction too. Readers are in for a total treat!” 

Pearse added: “Beach’s Blazing Bottoms have long been a company favourite and a huge hit with children too. His trademark humour and distinctive style are perfect for illustrated fiction and we’re cooking up some brilliantly anarchic characters that will have kids (and us) falling off their chairs for years to come.”
