Simon & Schuster UK Children’s is celebrating 10 years of Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet’s professional partnership with an anniversary edition of Barry the Fish with Fingers and a board book.
A "sparkly” anniversary edition of Barry the Fish with Fingers will be published on 16th May, while a board book, Count and Play with Barry the Fish with Fingers, is slated for publication in July.
“A dynamic publishing programme in 2019 marks 10 years of terrific picture book partnership and includes a brand new Supertato adventure, Supertato: Carnival Catastro-Pea!, on 27th June and two new novelty titles starring Alan the Bear in October,” the publisher said. “The anniversary edition of Barry features a new back cover design incorporating all of Sue and Paul’s best-loved characters, including Norman the Slug, No-Bot the Robot, Doug the Bug and Supertato.”
S&S UK will implement an "ambitious” marketing and sales strategy to celebrate the anniversary year which will include working closely with booksellers; creating in-store ‘party’ POS, providing assets for in-store parties and storytime sessions and competitions for customers to win school events with Hendra and Linnet. Other campaign activity includes partnerships with high profile consumer retailers and promotions to grow backlist sales. The authors will appear at several festivals throughout the summer and autumn and throughout schools across the country.
Helen Mackenzie Smith, picture books editorial director at S&S Children's, said: “We are so very proud to publish Sue and Paul here at S&S. Together they make picture book magic, with books that children simply adore and which fire their imaginations. We’re confident that 2019 will be their biggest year yet.”
