St James’s House has announced the publication of Her Majesty The Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant, the “only official book” for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, by Robert Jobson, Katie Nicholl and Tom Parker Bowles.
C.e.o. Richard Freed negotiated global publishing rights as part of the partnership between St James’s House and the event organiser. The commemorative album will be released on 12th May 2022. It is currently available for pre-order at the publisher’s website.
Phoebe Reith, director of development and partners for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, commented: “As the organiser of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, we are delighted to announce that St James’s House is working in partnership with us, given their strong history, knowledge and experience with national royal celebrations over the decades."
The publisher wrote: "When Princess Elizabeth became Queen on 6th February 1952, few could have anticipated that she would go on to become Britain’s longest-reigning monarch; a figure revered around the world for her wisdom, dedication and sense of duty. Seventy years on, and Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee will see the nation come together to celebrate a truly historic landmark."
Her Majesty The Queen will chart “the trials and triumphs of the Queen’s 70-year reign" and explore "how Her Majesty has provided the country and Commonwealth with a lifetime of leadership, from her steadfast presence during the Second World War through to her current unifying influence at a time of political, economic and social turbulence”.
Content by Tom Parker Bowles, food critic and writer and son of the Duchess of Cornwall, will reveal the royals’ dining tastes and traditions alongside the history and flavour of royal celebrations past and present. In addition, the book will include more than 250 photographs from throughout The Queen’s life.
Nicholl said: “The Platinum Jubilee Pageant is a landmark event in our nation’s history, and it is a great honour to work on its official commemorative album.”
“Our company has a long history of producing publications for major royal celebrations,” added Freed. “The Platinum Jubilee Pageant is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and another fantastic opportunity for us to create the official keepsake for a major celebration.”
