Stacey Solomon's guide to crafting and tidying, based on projects she started sharing with her 3.9 million Instagram followers, has been snapped up by Ebury.
Editorial director Laura Higginson bought UK, Europe and Commonwealth rights for Tap to Tidy from Amanda Harris, director of publishing at YMU. It will be released on 4th March 2021.
The publisher said: “Open and honest about the ups and downs of everyday life with her 3.9 million-strong community of followers, it's crafting and tidying that brings calm to Stacey's mind in the midst of a busy family life and work. For the first time, Stacey is sharing her Tap to Tidy approach to life in her new book Tap to Tidy – organising, crafting and creating happiness in a messy world. Arranged from wake-up to bedtime, with tidying projects, meal-time inspiration and calming crafts, and ‘make-ups’ to enjoy at different moments of the day.”
Solomon is a TV star who first rose to fame as a singer on “The X Factor” before branching out into hosting other shows. The regular "Loose Women" panellist, who is now engaged to fellow TV host Joe Swash, first revealed she had signed a book deal in an emotional Instagram post last year.
She said: “When I started doing Tap to Tidy on Instagram, I had no idea people would enjoy it as much as me. I’m forever grateful to my little Insta family that have given me the confidence to put it all into writing. I hope this book will give people a chance to switch off for a moment and enjoy reading about my favourite crafting, tidying and organising projects.”
Higginson added: “This is a joy-filled book offering solace and humour. Stacey has packed it full of her favourite, feel-good craft projects and brilliant organising ideas. It’s a joy to escape into with a cup of tea and a Daim bar.”
The publisher said retailers were already clamouring for the title. Aslan Byrne, Ebury sales director, said: “We have been blown away that the retailer excitement for Stacey’s Tap to Tidy matched our enthusiasm for it. Our initial print run of 75,000 was quickly taken up by big orders from retailers in every area of the market. Tap to Tidy has got the top promos in the supermarkets and high street retailers and Stacey has signed thousands of copies to support independents and high street retailers across the country. We will be placing a large first reprint on the back of today’s announcement and look forward to Tap to Tidy being the spring launch of 2021.”
