Emma Sidi, star of the BBC series “Starstruck” will voice the audiobook for Pernille Hughes’s rom-com Ten Years (One More Chapter).
Charlotte Ledger, publishing director, acquired world rights direct from the author, with German rights sold to DTV in a hotly contested auction, for publication in August 2022.
The publisher said: “Becca and Charlie have known each other since university. Becca and Charlie have also hated each other since university. Until Ally’s bucket list. The death of their loved one should mean they can go their separate ways and not look back. But completing the list is something neither of them can walk away from. And sometimes, those who bring out the worst in you, also bring out the very best… Over the course of 10 years, Becca and Charlie’s paths collide as they deal with grief, love and life after Ally.”
Sidi said: “It was a total joy to narrate Pernille Hughes’ brilliant new novel Ten Years. By the end, Charlie and Becca felt like old friends to me, just as they’d become to each other over the course of the novel. Ten Years is packed with emotion and laughs, and is such a perfect expression of what complicated, confusing, even surprising love entails.”
Hughes added: “Having Emma narrate Ten Years is an absolute dream. Her voice is simply gorgeous and she instinctively understood what I was trying to convey with my words. It was a full-on treat watching and hearing her bring Becca and Charlie to life. I’m beyond delighted.”
