Danielle Steel has signed a further multi-book contract with Pan Macmillan.

Jeremy Trevathan, managing director, signed UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, in a deal negotiated with Felicity Blunt at Curtis Brown.

Steel has written 169 novels. Since joining Pan Macmillan in 2017 she has had more than 100 top 10 appearances in the UK, Australia and South Africa. The prolific writer is currently publishing seven new hardbacks every year.

Publishing director Trisha Jackson said: "We are absolutely thrilled, proud and privileged to be continuing as Danielle’s publisher in the UK and our international markets. As the world’s biggest selling novelist with approaching a billion copies sold, her books are adored by millions of readers and her countless number one bestsellers, both in the UK and internationally, make her one of the world’s favourite storytellers. We will continue to leave no stone unturned in the quest to broaden that readership still further with plans to make 2022 an even bigger year for Danielle.”

Steel added: “I am so thrillled to have ’re-enlisted’ with Pan Macmillan to continue our publishing journey together. It’s a wonderful, satisfying collaboration and I couldn’t be more pleased. I love working with them, choosing covers, deciding on which books should come out when, and benefitting from the strong, positive, creative atmosphere of the house. I’m proud to be one of their authors!”

Trevathan commented: "Danielle is undoubtedly one of the world’s most popular authors, as her phenomenal sales and bestseller placings across the world, each week, attest. The quality of her storytelling and the engagement of her fans in the UK, Australia, South Africa and India make her a perfect partner for Pan Macmillan and I’m delighted that we are continuing this immensely successful collaboration.”
