Storm bags second destination thriller from Simon McCleave

Storm is due to publish a second standalone destination thriller from Simon McCleave, the author of the DI Ruth Hunter series.

Deputy managing director Claire Bord acquired world English-language rights to the psychological thriller Five Days in Provence from Millie Hoskins at United Agents. It will be published in e-book, audiobook and paperback in June 2025.

This will be McCleave’s second book published by Storm, following Last Night at Villa Lucia, which comes out on 26th July this year.

McCleave said: “Storm’s input and ideas for Last Night at Villa Lucia were superb, so I know my book is in excellent hands.”

Bord commented: “Simon is always creating relatable and intriguing characters – the kind you become obsessed with from the moment you meet them on the page – and he knows how to deliver a killer twist. Five Days in Provence opens with five friends gathering at a picturesque farmhouse in Provence for a 50th birthday celebration, but their dream getaway is about to end in murder. It’s the perfect summer thriller and I can’t wait to publish it."

McCleave has written 20 DI Ruth Hunter books.
