Storm Publishing has signed Nick Alexander’s The Imperfection of Us, a “heartfelt and intimate portrayal of a marriage".
Deputy managing director Claire Bord acquired world language rights including audio, film and translation in a one-book deal directly from the author. The Imperfection of Us will be published in July 2023 in e-book, audio and paperback.
Nick Alexander’s novels, including The Photographer’s Wife (Black & White Publishing) and The Other Son (Lake Union Publishing), have repeatedly hit the number one spot in the Amazon Kindle charts, sold over two million copies worldwide, and been translated into nine languages, the publisher said.
The Imperfection of Us explores the unconventional coupling and marriage of Dawn and Rob, as well as the evolution of their relationship over several decades.
Bord said: “Nick is an incredibly talented writer who crafts unique and highly engaging stories that have captivated readers all around the world. In The Imperfection of Us, Nick has created a heartfelt and intimate portrayal of a marriage, and in Dawn and Rob, readers will find two very relatable and down-to-earth characters. It’s a compelling, honest, and refreshing read, and I can’t wait to publish The Imperfection of Us at Storm."
Alexander commented: “I’m thrilled to be one of the first authors Storm will publish. They are right at the cutting edge of the publishing industry, and their team is young and vibrant but also reassuringly experienced. I think the journey we’re about to embark on together will be really exciting.”
