Storm has signed two contemporary novels by Amazon chart-topping author Sophie Ranald.
Deputy managing director Claire Bord has acquired world English-language rights from Alice Saunders at The Soho Agency.
The first novel will be published in e-book, paperback, and audiobook formats in May 2025, with the second following in September 2025.
The first novel follows Orla Doyle/Clifford, a struggling artist who inherits her grandparents’ Georgian house in East London and turns it into a lodging house for a fresh start. But when a young woman named Beatrice moves in, long-buried secrets threaten to unravel everything.
Storm said: “This deeply moving story about mothers, daughters, second chances and the complex forms love takes explores how one house becomes an unexpected sanctuary for healing wounded hearts across generations.”
Ranald, whose novels achieved multiple top 10 positions in the Amazon charts, said: “All Our Missing Pieces represents a slight genre shift for me, away from rom-com and towards women’s fiction, and I am excited to be taking this step with such a talented and insightful editor as Claire.
“I hope my readers will be as intrigued as I am by the world I have imagined in the house on Damask Square, and I can’t wait to take them on the journey as its secrets unfold.”
Bord commented: “Sophie Ranald has an extraordinary talent for creating characters that leap off the page and stories that keep you reading long into the night. In her new novel, she explores themes of forgiveness, family secrets and the possibility of second chances, showcasing her writing at its finest.”
