Publisher Kathryn Taussig has acquired US & Canadian rights to the newest book in the Stephanie King series, The Last Time I Saw Him by Rachel Abbott.

She acquired e-book and paperback rights from Lizzy Kremer and Maddalena Cavaciuti at David Higham Associates. The book will be published in August of this year.

Abbott has sold more than four million copies of her thrillers in English worldwide. Originally self-published, she has since been published by Headline and Bookouture. Headline will publish the UK edition of this book on the same day as Storm.

The Last Time I Saw Him can be read both as part of the Stephanie King series or as a standalone.

Abbott said: “I am delighted to be working with the talented and enthusiastic team at Storm Publishing for the USA and Canada release of my latest novel, The Last Time I Saw Him. Having collaborated with Kathryn Taussig before, I am thrilled to be working with her and the rest of the Storm team to bring Stephanie King’s latest adventure to life. Their innovative approach and expertise make this partnership truly exciting.”

Taussig said: “Rachel Abbott is an absolute master of the thriller genre, and I’m beyond thrilled to be bringing her latest Stephanie King novel to US and Canadian readers. The Last Time I Saw Him is Rachel at her very best — a gripping, atmospheric mystery set against the moody backdrop of the Cornish coast, with authentic characters and some fabulous twists. It’s a complete delight to be working once more with such a skilled storyteller and I can’t wait for readers to dive into this new book. I know they’re going to love it.”
