Studio Press, part of Bonnier Publishing UK, will this summer publish a title to tie-in with "So Awkward", a CBBC series about three socially awkward teenage girls.
Publishing in June 2018, the So Awkward Scrapbook will be a teen lifestyle guide “written” by the three main characters, Lily, Martha, Jas and their school friends. It will feature exclusive, never-seen-before content as well as content from the new series, revealing new characters and storylines ahead of the launch of series 4 on CBBC in summer 2018.
The authors are series creator Julie Bower and series writer Anthony MacMurray.
Studio Press struck a deal for world rights in all languages from TV production company Channel X, whose Salford-based division Channel X North makes the series.
Lisa Edwards, head of children’s publishing at Kings Road Publishing, said: “We knew that 'So Awkward' was a huge hit among young teens and they would have an appetite to see and read more from their favourite characters. Our scrapbook is not only the perfect way to delve into the girls’ world in even greater detail but it makes sense as something they would actually create with their friends. We hope it encourages readers to do the same.”
