YouTuber and bestselling novelist Zoe Sugg and Young Adult author and editor Amy McCulloch are collaborating on a new YA fiction project for Penguin Random House Children’s.
No details have been revealed of the as-yet-unnamed book, but it will be published by Penguin in autumn 2020. Holly Harris, PRH Children’s editorial director acquired world rights from Abigail Bergstrom at Gleam Futures, representing Sugg; Juliet Mushens of CaskieMushens acted for McCulloch.
Sugg, who has over 16 million followers on her social media channels, has sold £8.8m through BookScan UK of her Girl Online YA series which McCulloch edited while working at PRH before she became a full-time writer and freelance editor. Sugg's first outing, 2014's Girl Online, became the fastest-selling début novel in the UK since accurate records began when it sold 78,109 units in its first week on sale.
McCulloch’s latest titles are the Jinxed series, published by Simon & Schuster UK and Sourcebooks in the US. Her previous Potion Diaries books—released under the name Amy Alward—were published by Doubleday. She was also named a Bookseller Rising Star in 2013 while working as a commissioning editor for HarperVoyager.
