Swedish actress Mohammar to voice audiobook of The Girl in the Eagle’s Talons

Swedish actress and model Kajsa Mohammar has been signed by Dominic Gribben, audiobook publisher at Hachette UK, to read the audiobook for The Girl in the Eagle’s Talons (MacLehose Press).

The Girl in the Eagle’s Talons audiobook will be released simultaneously with hardback and e-book on 29th August 2023.

It is the seventh novel in the Millennium series by Swedish author Karin Smirnoff in a translation by Sarah Death, the award-winning translator of Selma Lagerlöf and Tove Jansson. Knopf and PRH are publishing in the US and Canada, respectively, on the same day.

Mohammar’s acting credits include “The Little Mermaid” (2023), “Viking Destiny” (2018) and “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of the Fire Saga” (2020).

She said: “I grew up in Stockholm, and I read the original trilogy. The stories that took place there have been with me for a long time and so has the character of Lisbeth Salande. She is a bit like the sea, she gets stormy and then she gets calm again, so I’m letting her lead me on this, instinctively, while leaning into the Swedishness of it all.”

Gribben said: “It was a real honour to have the opportunity to cast the next chapter in Lisbeth Salander’s story, and we found a perfect narrator in Kajsa. She’s given us an immersive and authentic reading, and her genuine enthusiasm for this story and for Karin Smirnoff’s writing really shines through.”
