Ryland Peters & Small has signed The Flygerians’ Cookbook, the debut from Peckham-based chef sisters Jess and Jo Edun, to be accompanied by a widespread marketing campaign.
Editorial director Julia Charles acquired world rights directly from the authors.
The book will be published on 10th September 2024 and will be supported by a significant marketing campaign, the publisher said. The sisters have already appeared on “Sunday Brunch” and “Steph’s Packed Lunch”.
Ryland Peters & Small said: “The Flygerians’ Cookbook showcases delicious home-cooked food from the larger than life Nigerian sisters Jess and Jo Edun, leading personalities in the fast-emerging and popular West African food scene.
“Inspired by their Grandma’s joyful cooking, they are keeping her legacy alive in their Peckham restaurant and pop-up residencies. Local heroes themselves, these siblings are striving to make a positive impact through food and the social connections it can create.”
The Eduns said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing out our very first cookbook with the amazing team at Ryland Peters & Small. We’re so proud of what we’re creating and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy their very own Flygerian experience in their own homes.”
Charles said: “Inseparable sisters, Jess and Jo Edun AKA The Flygerians have an energy and enthusiasm that is impossible to resist. We are so excited to be publishing this, their first book, as it will introduce them, as well as the delicious tastes and textures of Nigerian food to home cooks who are hungry for something new.”
