Thomas & Mercer has signed a three book deal with Shalini Boland, beginning with the psychological thriller The Silent Bride.
Editor Leodora Darlington acquired world rights directly from the author. The first book in the deal will be published in June 2023.
"We’re so excied to be publishing Shalini’s new books," said Mouncif Faqir of Amazon Books Europe. "She’s an exceptional talent and we can’t wait to expand her readership with the publication of The Silent Bride and the books beyond."
The synopsis reads: "The Silent Bride tells the story of Alice, who walks down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams. But when the groom turns to look at her, Alice stops in her tracks. Something’s not right. The man at the altar isn’t her fiancé. A stranger is standing in his place. But it’s only Alice who doesn’t seem to know who he is."
Darlington commented: "I’m a long-time fan of Shalini’s writing. She’s the absolute queen of psychological fiction and her storytelling is unbelievably addictive. I love that her readers are always at the forefront of her mind when crafting a story, which is what makes Thomas & Mercer the perfect publisher for her – we’re just as reader obsessed! I can’t wait for readers to pick up her thrilling new books. I know they’ll absolutely love them."
Boland added: "I’m beyond excited to be working with Leodora and the rest of the talented team at Amazon Publishing. I can’t wait to embark on this next publishing adventure and to bring my psychological thrillers to new and existing readers. Such a dream come true!"
