Amazon Publishing’s crime and thriller imprint, Thomas & Mercer, has signed a two-book deal with psychological thriller writer Victoria Selman who makes her debut writing under her own name.
Originally writing under the pseudonym V J Slotover, Selman was shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger Award in 2017.
World English rights were acquired from Alice Lutyens at Curtis Brown, while Polish rights have sold to Czama Owca and German rights were snapped up in a “major” two-book, six-figure deal with Goldmann.
Two psychological thrillers by Victoria Selman will be published by Thomas & Mercer in 2019.
Jack Butler, editor at Thomas & Mercer, said: “We’re over the moon to have signed a two-book deal with such an exciting debut voice. The quality of Victoria’s writing is so authentic and she captures the ‘cat-and-mouse’ essence perfectly. We can’t wait to share this dynamic new voice in psychological suspense.”
Selman said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Thomas & Mercer family. Amazon is a really exciting forward-thinking publisher and I’m so glad to have found such a wonderful home with them.”
