HarperNonFiction has scooped the third book from Dr Rupy Aujla, NHS doctor and founder of “The Doctor’s Kitchen” podcast and channel.
Publishing director Katya Shipster acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Carly Cook at the Found Agency. Thorsons will publish Doctor’s Kitchen: 3-2-1 in January 2021.
The synopsis explains: “In Doctor’s Kitchen: 3-2-1 Dr Rupy arms readers with over 100 recipes for healthy simple meals every day using his 3-2-1 formula, and tackles the biggest issue facing our population’s health, lack of fruit and vegetable consumption. As a busy doctor, Rupy knows the importance of quick and easy cooking and so each recipe promises three portions of fruit and vegetables, two servings and requires only one pan. This assures all of the right nutrition needed to optimise our health and using his foodie instincts each recipe has a strong emphasis on flavour and culinary diversity.”
Dr Rupy Aujla is the author of The Doctor’s Kitchen (Thorsons) and Eat to Beat Illness (Thorsons). He is also the founder of Culinary Medicine UK which teaches medical students and health professionals the foundations of nutrition and how to cook. His podcast regularly tops the health chart and has had over three million downloads.
He said: “It’s a pleasure to be working with HarperNonFiction and to continue to make healthy eating accessible and enjoyable for everyone, whilst bringing attention to the single biggest ongoing issue facing our health; our diet. In this new book I streamline the cooking process making it easier and simpler than ever to cook healthy food from scratch every day. I know everyone who reads this book will feel more empowered to cook and take control of their health using their fork."
Shipster added: “I personally cannot wait for this book — it answers every single question I have when planning my own family’s meals; nutritious, quick and easy-to-prepare meals that are delicious and memorable to boot, while promising sustainable long-term wellbeing. No need to follow any complicated diet rules here. In an increasingly noisy world, it’s so reassuring to be able to turn to Dr Rupy’s science-based recipes, knowing that all the thinking has been done already, optimising the benefit of our crucial daily food choices.”
