Tim Lebbon heads in new direction for 'brutal' horror novel with Titan
Titan Books has swooped for Tim Lebbon’s "brutal" horror novel, Secret Lives of the Dead.
Editor-at-large Cath Trechman acquired world English-language rights from Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein for publication in August 2025. Fenton Coulthurst will edit the novel.
Secret Lives of the Dead is a "gripping" tale set in rural England over 24 hours.
Lebbon siad: "It’s a departure from my recent environmental horror novels, heading more into supernatural crime/thriller territory, and I think it contains one of the most terrifying antagonists I’ve ever created. I can’t wait to see it published, and for readers to start learning about all those dark, secret lives.”
Coulthurst added: "It’s exciting to be bringing Tim’s new direction for Secret Lives of the Dead to readers. It’s a story of criminality and how that can unearth altogether more uncanny horrors. It’s truly dark, and people are going to love it."
