Tiny Tree Children’s Books is entering the Young Adult market for the first time, publishing an “epic” saga by C J Neylon.
Publisher James Shaw acquired world rights to the Seven Songs for a Throne saga directly from the author. The first book, Peredis a Prince at War, is published on 13th October. Neylon will continue the series over the coming years after signing a seven-book deal with the publisher in 2020.
The synopsis says: “Following visions of his father’s death, a prince of divided lineage embarks on a perilous journey of self-discovery, chasing his destiny into a dangerous world of warring factions and injustice. Set in the early years of the 22nd century against a background of conflict between the Rational and Scientific Party, the new masters of a tyrannical Europus, and the Visionaries, an assembly of smaller armies fighting for the independence that was wrested from their nations some years before, Seven Songs For A Throne combines high fantasy and science fiction into a series filled with action, intrigue and captivating characters.”
Shaw said: “We’ve wanted to expand into the YA market for a long time, we just hadn’t found the right book — or books. As a fantasy and sci-fi geek myself, I quickly got lost in the world C J Neylon had created and wanted to read more. The amount of lore in the world C J has created is astounding.
“Rarely do you get a fully formed seven-book saga put in front of you in one go. This might be the most epic way for us to get into YA possible.”
