Titan Books has acquired Victoria Lee's YA novel A Lesson in Vengeance in a two-book deal.
Joanna Harwood, editor, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, to two titles from Heather Baror-Shapiro at Baror International, on behalf of Holly Root and Taylor Haggerty at Root Literary. The first title will be published in the UK in February 2022 and a second standalone will follow in 2023.
A Lesson In Vengeance is billed as a "dark, twisty" thriller about a centuries-old, ivy-covered boarding school haunted by its history of witchcraft and two girls dangerously close to digging up the past.
Harwood said: "I am absolutely thrilled that Titan will be bringing A Lesson in Vengeance to the UK. Felicity and Ellis' dark and compelling story had me hooked right from the start, and I know readers will enjoy it just as much as I did. I couldn't be more pleased to welcome such a talented author to the Titan list."
Lee commented: "I’m delighted to be working with Jo and Titan, bringing A Lesson in Vengeance to the UK. So many of my favorite books have been published by Titan, for one. But also, art and literature from the UK has been incredibly inspirational to me as a writer, so I can’t wait to get this book in British readers’ hands."
Lee has published two novels with Amazon Publishing imprint Skyscape: The Fever King (2019) and The Electric Heir (2020).
