Titan Books has landed the first adult fantasy novel, Fallen City, from Adrienne Young. Former editor Davi Lancett acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Heather Baror-Shapiro at Baror International in a two-book deal. Editor Fenton Coulthurst will oversee publication in November 2025, simultaneously with Saturday Books in the US.
Set in a "lush, glittering world", the duology centres on the walled city of Isara, "where political turmoil ignites a rebellion 100 years in the making. But when a legionnaire falls in love with a magistrate’s daughter, their love will threaten the fate of the city and the will of the gods".
"I am so excited for readers to finally go on this adventure with me,” said Young. “Fallen City is a book that has been growing in my heart for a very long time, and it feels like a very timely story for the world that surrounds us today. I hope readers fall in love with, hurt with and root for these characters the way I do. November can’t come soon enough."
Coulthurst added: "This is an exciting new direction for Adrienne: grandiose in scale but still true to the intimate storytelling that has won her so many admirers."
