Titan Books has signed The Lighthouse at the End of the World, the debut adult fantasy novel by Philip A Suggars in a two-book deal.
Fiction editor Daniel Carpenter acquired world English-language rights from Sam Edenborough at Greyhound Literary. The Lighthouse at the End of the World will be published in spring 2026 with the second book in the series will follow in 2027.
Edenborough said: "Philip’s prose crackles with invention, warmth and wit."
The Lighthouse at the End of the World, the first in the Cities of the Drift series, follows a child who stumbles into a parallel London. It has been pitched as a "riveting, page-turning story about family and discovering your true nature".
Carpenter commented: "Suggars is a natural-born storyteller and The Lighthouse at the End of the World is the perfect introduction to one of the most incredible new fantasy worlds I’ve ever read. Reading it is like getting lost in a brand-new city for the first time, in awe of your surroundings, and thankful that you have a guide like Suggars to show you the sights."
Suggars said: “Growing up in London, I’ve always loved the city and am really looking forward to working with Daniel to bring this fantastical version of the capital to readers.”
