Titan buys four Schwab titles in six-figure deal
Titan Books has acquired four new titles by American fantasy author V.E. Schwab in a six-figure deal.
The acquisition includes a brand-new trilogy entitled Threads of Power, set in the world of Schwab's Shades of Magic series that will see characters from the first three books joined by an all-new cast. A fourth, separate book starring a female assassin in a future New York City concludes the deal.
Miranda Jewess, acquisitions and managing editor at Titan, bought UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights from Tor subsidiary rights manager Chris Schiena for six figures.
Jewess said: “I'm utterly thrilled to have acquired more of Victoria's fantastic novels, and that Titan will continue to make her books available to her legions of UK fans. The depth of her writing grows with every release, and I can't wait to see what her new series have in store.”
The books join Titan Books’ on-going publishing schedule with the forthcoming 2018 publication of Vengeful, the follow-up to Schwab’s first UK publication Vicious, and The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue, a story about a girl who makes a Faustian bargain to live forever, only to be forgotten by everyone she meets.
