Titan nets horror writer Tremblay's crime novels

Titan Books has netted two crime novels from award-winning horror writer Paul Tremblay.

Managing editor George Sandison bought UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein on behalf of Stephen Barbara at Inkwell Management.

Titan will publish The Little Sleep and No Sleep Till Wonderland as an omnibus paperback edition in April 2021. Originally published in the US by Henry Holt, the novels are being brought back to the market there for the first time in 10 years by publisher William Morrow, with Titan bringing them to UK readers for the first time.

The publisher said: “A wittily dark take on Chandleresque noir, the novels are early examples of Tremblay’s genre-defying talents that have seen him rapidly become noted as one of the key voices in the new wave of contemporary literary horror. The stories introduce Mark Genevich, a PI in Boston whose narcolepsy makes a tough gig even harder. How can you unravel the mysteries of a missing person when the first questions are: when did you fall asleep, and who even hired you?”

Tremblay has won the Bram Stoker and British Fantasy awards and is the author of Disappearance at Devil's Rock (Titan) and, most recently, Survivor Song (Titan), released in July.

They inhabit the voice and power of classic noir, and reform them into something fresh, shot through with a deadpan wit to rank with the best of them.”
