Titan has signed a three-book deal, for two novels and a short story collection, from Hailey Piper.
Editor Daniel Carpenter acquired world English rights from Lane Heymont at The Tobias Literary Agency. The short story collection, Teenage Girls Can Be Demons, will be published in September 2025 with the novel, This Movie Doesn’t End the Way We Want, following in September 2026. The new deal "promises to bring more inventive and heart-wrenching queer horror" that Piper is known for.
Heymont said: "As an agent, I love working with Titan Books because they are passionate about what they do and are dedicated to not only treating my clients well but collaborating closely with them to create standout books."
Teenage Girls Can Be Demons will contain 13 "coming-of-rage" stories which take "our most difficult years of transformation and twist them into a new and terrifying shapes".
"Working with Titan has been a glorious experience," said Piper. "With both A Light Most Hateful and All the Hearts You Eat, Titan has been a nurturing home for my weird brand of horror, and I’m thrilled to be with them for another three books!"
Carpenter added: "Hailey is one of the brightest lights in the new generation of horror authors, and seeing her push herself as a writer over the last few years has been a career highlight. You never quite know what to expect from a Hailey Piper book, but what you can always say for sure is that they will be wildly ambitious, delicately constructed, and always absolutely heartbreaking."
