Titan swoops for Deadpool co-creator Nicieza's debut

Titan Books has swooped for Suburban Dicks, the  "knock-out" debut novel by Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza.

Editor Sophie Robinson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Meredith Miller at the United Talent Agency, for publication in June 2021.

Nicieza is a bestselling comics writer, known for his work on Marvel properties such as X-Men, Thunderbolts, X-Force, and fan-favourite character Deadpool who has spawned a blockbuster movie franchise.

The publisher explained: “Suburban Dicks is his debut novel, a satirical modern crime novel that will delight fans of Tom Perrotta. Set in New Jersey, US, a gas station attendant has been shot at point-blank range and local police decide it was a botched robbery. But Andie Stern, once a budding criminal profiler at the FBI, knows it was murder after one glance at the crime scene. Together with Kenneth Lee, a disgraced newspaper hack, their investigation will uncover the creeping darkness of American suburbia.”
