Tor Bramble, an imprint of Pan Macmillan, has signed romantasy author Helen Scheuerer in seven-book deal in her four-book Legends of Thezmarr series, and a new Ashes of Thezmarr standalone trilogy. Tor UK publisher Gillian Green acquired British and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from Ezra Ellenberg and Ethan Ellenberg of EELA.
Described as "‘The Witcher’ meets romantasy", the Thezmarr series of books feature alchemy and magic, warriors and assassins. Tor will publish the first book, Iron & Embers, in February 2025, with books two and three to follow in the same year on Bramble, with the backlist reissue planned for 2026.
Green said: "Combining the best of epic fantasy with spicy heart-wrenching romance and utterly gorgeous writing with dialogue that just sparkles, Helen brings a lightly feminist and brilliantly original touch to the romantasy genre. Her novels are all beautifully written, ingeniously crafted, compulsive and magical."
Scheuerer said: "I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with the team at Tor Bramble to bring the world of Thezmarr to a broader readership! I’m incredibly grateful to publisher, Gillian for her enthusiasm for this story, and I’m honoured my work has found a home with such a renowned romantasy imprint."
