Tor snaps up Isabel Agajanian's dark fantasy debut in two-book deal

Tor has snapped up Modern Divination, a dark fantasy debut from Isabel Agajanian, in a two-book deal. 

Gillian Green, publisher, acquired world rights including audio from Sheyla Knigge at High Line Literary Collective in an exclusive submission. Originally self-published, Modern Divination will be edited and re-released in a new edition on 6th February 2025 in hardback, trade paperback, e-book and audio. 

In the first instalment in the Spells for Life and Death duology, the story follows Aurelia Schwartz, "a witch who has the power of green magic, who finds herself having to join forces with her academic rival to thwart the attentions of a powerful nemesis intent on stealing magical powers".
