Transworld has pre-empted an “explosive” account of Vladimir Putin’s presidency by award-winning journalist John Sweeney.
Henry Vines, editorial director, pre-empted world English language rights to Killer in the Kremlin from Humfrey Hunter. It will publish 21st July.
The book is described as “an urgent account of Putin’s brutal regime and his imperialist ambitions following his rise from KGB thug to dictator and war criminal”. It will include exclusive first-hand reporting and eyewitness testimony from Ukraine, as well as every other major act of Russian aggression in recent times.
Sweeney has received global acclaim for his reporting from Kyiv, where he is still based. He has been reporting on Putin’s Russia for almost 30 years.
