Transworld has pre-empted a book on innovation from the founding editor-in-chief of Wired magazine’s UK edition, David Rowan.
Entitled The Disruptors: A Wired Editor’s Quest for Non-Bullshit Innovation, the book will detail Rowan's global quest to identify "visionary leaders who have managed to recalibrate their businesses in radical ways to grow and succeed in the digital age" - and shows where he discovered "genuinely exciting innovation ... in places you might not expect".
The book will offer case studies and lessons the reader can take to apply to their own field of work. Publishing director Susanna Wadeson bought world rights from Adrian Sington of Kruger Cowne Rights.
Wadeson said Rowan was "uniquely well-positioned" to write the book. At Wired, he has been able to get to know the founders of WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Google, Spotify, Xiaomi, Nest and Twitter, in addition to countless other ambitious startups around the world.
She also praised his "truly exciting, accessible and inspiring voice", adding "given the daily challenge to us all to think differently and adapt for the future, as a team we couldn’t have been more eager or determined to grab this book.’"
Bantam Press will publish in May 2019.
