Transworld has scooped four more novels by author Jo Thomas in a "substantial" six-figure deal. Editorial director Francesca Best bought UK and Commonwealth rights from David Headley at DHH.
The first book in the new contract will be published in summer 2024, returning readers to the Provence setting of Thomas’ 2020 novel, Escape to the French Farmhouse (Transworld Digital/ Corgi), which reached the top spot in the Kindle bestseller chart.
Thomas published eight novels with Headline before moving to Transworld for a major relaunch in 2020. She won the RNA Katie Fforde Bursary in 2013, the 2014 RNA Joan Hessayon Award and the 2014 Festival of Romance Best E-book Award.
She said: "I am delighted to be continuing my publishing journey with Francesca and the team at Transworld. I’m excited about a return to the French Farmhouse and the characters there that people have come to love. Thank you to the whole team for all your work and efforts."
Best added: "Jo’s novels celebrate all the good things: food, love, family and fun. What’s more, they transport to the reader to gorgeous locations, and I for one can’t wait to go back to Provence with Jo next year."
