Production company Lime Pictures has acquired the TV rights to Dawn Kurtagich’s YA novel The Dead House.
Rebecca Hodgson, head of drama at Lime Pictures, struck the deal with Polly Nolan at the Greenhouse Literary Agency.
Hodgson said: “The Dead House is a rare find - a novel you can't put down - which we think could make an enthralling drama series. We are very excited to be developing it for the screen.”
The Dead House is Kurtagich’s debut novel and was published last year by Orion Children’s Books in the UK and Little, Brown in the US. Her second novel The Creeper Man will be released this summer.
Lime Pictures is the Liverpool-based company behind programmes such as Hollyoaks, The Only Way is Essex and Rocket’s Island.
