Point Blank, the new literary crime imprint at Oneworld, has snapped up two novels by Will Dean.
Oneworld acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to Sweet Rot and Red Snow from Kate Burke at Diane Banks Associates.
Sweet Rot is set in an isolated Swedish town where two bodies have been found in the woods - both with their eyes removed. Could these murders be linked to the Medusa killings of twenty years ago? The killer was never found back then... Tuva Moodyson, the town paper's young, deaf and ambitious reporter, knows that pursuing this story could make her career but will it also put her life in danger?
Publisher Jenny Parrott said: "Will is a fantastic new British writer with a wonderful voice and a deliciously dark view of the world. He writes addictively, and I defy anyone to read Sweet Rot and think of an ice cube tray in quite the same way ever again."
Dean said: 'I'm absolutely thrilled to be working with Jenny and the team at Oneworld. I live and work in a clearing in the centre of a huge Swedish forest so to now be sharing a publisher with Marlon James is a dream come true. I'm excited for readers to follow Tuva Moodyson as she unpicks the secrets and lies that knit a small Swedish town together."
Burke said: "I'm delighted that this exceptional series will be launched on such a stellar crime list and by such a successful, prize-winning publishing team."
The novels will be published in 2018 and 2019.
