Penguin Michael Joseph (MJ) has acquired two new seasonal fiction titles from Jenny Bayliss.
Editorial director Hannah Smith acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to two new titles from Hayley Steed at Janklow & Nesbit. Kate Dresser at Putnam will publish in the US. Bayliss is the author of four seasonal romances (Pan Macmillan). Her first title with Penguin Michael Joseph, Kiss Me at Christmas, will be published in paperback in November 2024.
Bayliss said: “From the moment I met Hannah, I felt as though we were exactly each other’s cup of tea, and I knew I’d love her to be my editor. I am so excited to work with Hannah and Penguin Michael Joseph and cannot wait to see what the future brings.”
Steed said: “Jenny’s festive reads are a highlight of my year. Full of warmth, humour and some excellent theatrical antics, Kiss Me at Christmas is another absolute treat for the Christmas season. We’re so excited to work with Hannah and MJ on her next books — a match made in heaven!”
Smith said: “I have been a fan of Jenny’s writing for many years, so it is such a pleasure and joy to be bringing more of her festive delights to the world. Jenny captures community, romance and seasonal sparkle like no other and reading Kiss Me at Christmas is like curling up with the perfect hot chocolate on a snowy day.”
