Vermilion has acquired Come Together, from sexual wellness educator and bestselling author Dr Emily Nagoski.
Editorial director Samantha Jackson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Denise Cronin at Penguin Random House US. Come Together will publish 1st February 2024.
Nagoski has an MS in counselling and a PhD in health behaviour and has been a sex educator for over 20 years. Her previous book Come as You Are (Scribe UK) was a bestseller.
“In Come Together, Emily takes on one of the most misunderstood subjects of all time – sex in long-term relationships – and shows us that most of what we’ve been taught about enjoying sex is wrong,” the publisher said. “Featuring inclusive stories and examples from a wide range of couples and individuals, readers will find out what great sex really looks like and the best way to overcome obstacles – including relationship conflicts, gendered beliefs about how sex ’should be’ and body image worries.”
Nagoski said: "My hope for this book is that we will help readers in long term-relationships sustain and deepen their sexual connection."
Jackson added: “Come As You Are was a real trail-blazer and Come Together is the natural follow-on her fans have been waiting for. We’ve seen an explosion of interest in this area in recent years and we are excited to collaborate with our US colleagues to create another global publishing success with Emily.”
