Vermilion bags 'parenting book like no other' from Weinstock

Vermilion has landed How the World Is Making Our Children Mad and What to Do About it from child psychotherapist Louis Weinstock.

Samantha Jackson, senior commissioning editor, acquired world rights at auction from Valeria Huerta. The book will publish on 9^th June 2022.

Weinstock is a transpersonal psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, coach and meditation teacher. He has worked with vulnerable children for more than 20 years as a drugs counsellor, child protection social worker and a psychotherapist running a therapeutic school for teenagers with complex trauma. He is also co-founder of Apart of Me, a charity that helps young people transform their grief into compassion.

How the World Is Making Our Children Mad contextualises years of work and case studies within historical and psychological understanding to bring together a “parenting book like no other”.

Jackson said: “Louis has a huge amount of experience helping children and young people face the challenges of today. His deep wisdom and gentle, insightful coaching make this a truly special book which I am very proud to be publishing.”

Weinstock added: “Over 20 years of my professional life, I have seen growing numbers of children struggling with their mental health. It makes me sad to see a world that has forgotten how to meet children’s needs.
