Vermilion has signed How To Argue With A Meat Eater (and Win Every Time) from vegan educator Ed Winters.
Editorial director Samantha Jackson acquired world English rights from Hattie Grunwald at the Blair Partnership. The book will be published on 28th December 2023.
How To Argue With A Meat Eater (and Win Every Time) is Winters’ second book following on from This Is Vegan Propaganda, also published with Vermilion, and will "empower readers to win every argument against veganism, as well as showcasing what it takes to become a skilful and intelligent debater". It will also bring together years of research and debates with slaughterhouse workers, farmers, animal rights philosophers, environmentalists and everyday consumers.
Winters has given two TEDx talks which have garnered 2.4 million views, according to the publisher, and is also know for his viral speech "You Will Never Look at Your Life in the Same Way Again". He is described as a "compassionate" activist.
Winters commented: "I am incredibly excited to be publishing How to Argue With a Meat Eater (and Win Every Time), especially as there has never been a more important time for the merits of veganism to be discussed. So often misinformation and disinformation is spread around about veganism and any discussion about it becomes reductive and argumentative. This is why, as well as being a deep dive into all of the arguments used against veganism and a thorough debunking of them, publishing How to Argue With a Meat Eater (and Win Every Time) will empower readers to become accomplished debaters and inspired change-makers."
Jackson added: "We are over the moon to be publishing another book with the brilliant Ed Winters. Following on from the huge success of This Is Vegan Propaganda, this new book will reveal what Ed does best – win debates. It is an inspirational book and will give readers the tools to not only win every argument against veganism, but become critical thinkers, motivated citizens and inspire change."
