Audiobook and large-print publisher W F Howes has acquired the Dr Alexander Gregory trilogy by self-published author Louise Ross. Senior acquisitions editor Laura Smith, acquired exclusive, worldwide, unabridged audio rights to all three books via Millie Hoskins at United Agents.
The new series follows the story of Gregory and his work as a psychological profiler around the world.
The author - who writes as L J Ross - is best known for her hugely popular series the DCI Ryan Mysteries, which has sold more than four million copies worldwide, W F Howes said.
The lead character in the new series will be familiar to readers of the DCI Ryan Mysteries, in which he featured as a minor character. The first audiobook in the trilogy is Impostor, which is set for release on 31st October 2019, followed by Hysteria, which comes out on 10th December, and Bedlam, the final instalment, slated for February 2020. The audiobooks will be published simultaneously with the self-published e-book editions.
Ross, a former lawyer, said: "I'm excited to be working with W F Howes to give voice to the new character of psychological profiler, Dr Alexander Gregory. I'm sure that together we can create thrilling new experiences for audiobook listeners."
The author is also known for knocking Paula Hawkins' The Girl on the Train (Transworld) off the top spot in the Kindle bestseller chart with her first novel, Holy Island, in 2015.
