Walker acquires new trilogy from Barnett and Klassen

The Walker Books Group has acquired a new trilogy by picture book creators Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen.

The first book, Triangle, about a Triangle who plays a trick on his friend Square, will be published worldwide in March 2017. Books two and three will follow in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Liz Bicknell, the executive editorial director and associate publisher at Candlewick Press, Walker’s US publishing arm, acquired the world rights from Steven Malk of Writers House. Bicknell will edit the trilogy, which will be designed by executive art director Ann Stott.

Barnett and Klassen previously collaborated on Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, which was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway award this year.
