Welbeck has landed Roll With It: Oasis in Photographs 1994-2002, the “definitive” collection of the band’s work with Tom Sheehan, chief photographer at Melody Maker.
Joe Cottington, publishing director for Welbeck Illustrated, acquired world all language rights directly from Sheehan. The book will be published in hardback and ebook on 5th June 2025, retailing at £35.
Billed as a “breathtaking” book, Roll With It will contain previously unpublished photographs alongside Sheehan’s memories of the band’s studio sessions. Sheehan photographed Oasis “throughout the glory days of their career”, beginning with a trip to New York before the release of their debut album. “Very few people had the access that Tom enjoyed,” said Cottington, who called Roll With It a “stunning book”.
Sheehan added: “I was lucky to work with the band before everything went crazy for them – my first encounter was in July 1994, before the first album was released. Oasis have been called many things, but I’d like to add ‘totally professional’, which is how I see them. Of course there’s always time for jollification but the work is the most important thing for them. They are chaps after my own heart. A great band and hilarious company.”
