White Lion Publishing, an imprint of the Quarto Group, has acquired a new cookbook from chef, restaurateur and television personality Judy Joo. World rights to K-Quick: Korean Food in 30 Minutes or Less were acquired from Martine Carter at Sauce Talent and the book is due for publication in May 2025.
Joo’s latest collection "brings Korean flavours to home cooks" and contains a "diverse" selection of recipes that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less. The synopsis continues: "In K-Quick, Judy Joo will tap into this ongoing global excitement surrounding Korean culture and cuisine. Designed for adventurous foodies and busy home cooks, it captures the rich, vibrant flavours of Korean cooking with straightforward methods and time-saving instructions."
Joo is the restauranteur behind the Seoul Bird restaurant group, which has locations in London, New York and Las Vegas. A new branch is also set to open in Edinburgh in 2025.
Joo said: "I’m thrilled to share my third book and bring more of the vibrant flavours of Korea to the world. Growing up, there were always so many amazing time-saving tips and tricks we used in the kitchen and I’ve loved applying these, along with contemporary techniques, to create quick versions of all the dishes and recipes I love to make."
Jessica Axe, publisher at White Lion, said: "I am thrilled to be publishing a new title from Judy. She always brings such fantastic energy and creativity to all her work, and her recipes are guaranteed to deliver. Encapsulating all this in K-Quick is the perfect next step in Judy’s writing career."
