White Lion has acquired the rights to Glowography, described as a "masterclass" in make-up from "The Glow Up" judge Dominic Skinner.
Commissioning editor Andrew Roff acquired world rights from Eddie Gold at The Gold Studios for publication in autumn 2024.
Best known as a judge on make-up competition "Glow Up", Skinner is also the UK director of make-up artistry for MAC Cosmetics. In Glowography, he provides a "make-up manifesto" which shows readers how to think about and apply make-up "in a brand new way".
Skinner said: “Make-up is amazing. It has the power to transform people into the person they always felt they were or could potentially be. However, over the years I started to notice that the individual has somehow got lost in the ocean of beauty posts and make-up tutorials making this creative art form unattainable for a lot of people. With this book I want to bring the power of beauty back to the people and help individuals to find their own unique style, taste and form of expression. Experiment in a safe place to discover that makeup can be fun and for everyone. This is not a book for those who follow trend but a manifesto for those who want to become trend setters. A guide for find your own voice and self expression.”
Roff added: “Dom is genuinely the most creative free spirit I have ever met. The make-up experiments at the heart of this book form a masterclass that anyone who’s ever been frustrated by make-up will respond to.”
